Download page
This is where you can download the "Working Papers", which are the documents you will need to accompany work submitted for assessment.
- Unless otherwise indicated, all files are in Rich Text Format (compatible with all general-purpose word processing packages as far as I know).
- To download, click on the icon in
the appropriate column for the item you need:
Windows will (probably) open it in your word-processor
and you can then "save as..." wherever
you like.
If it does not work,
this may be because you have got the security
options on your browser set to "High",
which will block downloaded files. In Internet
Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options
> Security and reset to "Medium".
Parallel options exist for Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox (too
many variations in recent versions to go
into here) and Opera.
- If you do not want to open the item, hold down Shift while clicking, and you will be prompted for a location to save it. We all know that "my computer crashed" is the premier excuse for students failing to submit. Sometimes it is true. There are several ways in which you can save copies of your work online, for free. Use them!
Learning contracts, etc.
- Professional Practice Contract; this covers both Professional Practice 1 and 2, and provides the framework for individualising the programme to address your needs, and to keep track of your learning and achievement.
- Observation Protocol for Professional Practice; it is up to you to provide your mentor or tutor with a copy of this on which to record their feedback on their observation. There is also an Acrobat version, for writing on. With a "pen", or even a "pencil". Weird. It'll never catch on.
- Submission proposal and self-assessment; You should include one of these with each assessment submission, as well as the module-specific Outcomes Sheet.
- Agreement with Mentor; use this to clarify what each of you is committing to.
Module Outcomes Sheets
These specify the outcomes and LLUK's so-called "assessment criteria" for each module in more detail than in the printed handbook. They are good servants; use them to check that you have covered the requirements. But they are bad bosses; why? We shall discuss that extensively, I hope.
In any event, you need to include completed outcomes sheets with each submission, so we can check that everything has been addressed.

Other stuff
- Template for submissions; This is a Word document, which can be used to set up your own Template, which will automatically format your submission as recommended. It will also work for Open Office (which is a free, no-strings attached, office suite which is at least as good as Microsoft's, and reads and writes MS Office documents.)
- The generic version of the Handbook; this has not been tailored for any particular Centre. It is an Acrobat (.pdf) file, which needs the Acrobat Reader (in all probability you have that on your machine already. If not, click on the link to download it).
